Stunning Southern Spain

The retreat is in the stunning Suryalila retreat centre in the heart of the Andalusian countryside ♥. An area known for its natural beauty. The majestic mountain range of Sierra de Grazalema can be seen on the horizon behind Suryalila, making the views in all directions breathtaking.

The property has 50 acres of land and is still a working olive farm with 800 olive trees. The buildings are beautifully renovated farm houses laid out in typical Spanish style with lemon and orange tree courtyards.

Suryalila also has state of the art yoga halls, including the magnificent Om Dome, with a high quality sound system, beautiful views and decorated murals around the walls.

The Journey

Through movement, music, giving and sharing touch and massage we will go on a journey to reconnect to our body, heart and spirit.

We will co-create a transformational experience, awakening your senses, reviving your sense of joy and belonging, and inviting in the simple pleasures as tools for us to bring our everyday lives into more balance.

Connection with your body, breath, sensations.

Connection with one another through touch, through openness and sharing and group workshops.

Connection to the majesty of mother nature through the breathtaking Suryalila landscapes and sunsets, and also a beautiful river walk.

Find Balance

Rebalance your energy and nourish yourself with deeply restorative and mindful practices to invite a sense of peace, rejuvenation and balance.

Nourishment that balances and connects you!

• Three delicious, healthy, vegetarian meals a day. Cooked lovingly with local, seasonal and organic produce (often using produce harvested from the Suryalila garden).
• Rest, integrate, relax and read in the hammocks or by the salt water swimming pool. There is also a chance of a wood fired Sauna too!
• An opportunity in your free time to explore a range of excursions (stunning hikes in the Sierra de Grazalema, or cultural trips to Ronda, Cadiz or Seville).

Meet Joanna and Catia


In 2005 she started her healing path working in hospitals and clinics focused on neurological disorders. Few years after she decided to go beyond the phisical body, and started to study the subtle and emotional body. She had her first contact with the ancient healing art of Thai Yoga Massage in 2010. After 3 years of training, including several additional courses in Thailand, India, Germany, Spain and Greece, she became a Thai Massage practitioner in 2013. As time passed, she also studied Advanced Dynamic Osteothai, Integrated Craniosacral Biodynamics, Anatomy Trains, Tok Sen and Moxibustion Therapy, Hot Herbal Compress Massage, Hatha yoga, Restorative and Yin Daoism Based Yoga.

Through the Thai Yoga Massage, the Osteopathic approach and the CranioSacral presence, she found the depth that she was looking for.

She feels blessed for having had the good fortune to learn from so many great teachers and develop her own practice.

Integrating all the knowledge with her therapeutic foundation, she facilitates treatments and workshops with a holistic view in order to restore peace and equilibrium.

Cátia is renowned for her kind and loving presence, her sense of intuition, sensitivity and gentle touch, and her deep trust in life.

Joanna's passion is to share mindful-movement, infused with breath awareness, combined in a light-hearted playful way.

Joanna uses her vinyasa training and molds it with a variety of practices to invite awareness of subtler sensation and bring more consciousness to how we interact with the world around us. Inspirations come from, Scaravelli Yoga, Yin Yoga, Ecstatic dance, Hridaya meditation and Thai massage.

Joanna began her yoga practice in a hot yoga studio, initially just interested in the physical benefits. Later she was guided to India, Thailand and Mexico, where she was introduced to different schools, teachers and elements of yoga, and began to incorporate yoga into all corners of her life.

Throughout Joanna’s yoga journey she felt transformation in her own life and witnessed it in those around her. This essence of yoga beyond the asana is what she is now passionate about sharing. Her intention is to share what she loves in a nurturing and inclusive way.
